The Perfect Time For Fabulous Skin...Part 1.

With a large percentage of the population currently staying at home, self-isolating or perhaps furloughed from work, it is likely that daily make-up routines have taken a back seat. For some, this is a bit daunting…for others a welcomed break!

So, under these current circumstances, and with our tumbleweed like social calendars, this is a great opportunity to give your skin a rest from wearing products.

It also means that, when you do start to wear make-up again, you will have the perfect base for your make-up allowing you to achieve the best outcome from the products you use.

In the first part of this blog, Clinic Director at The Source Clinic - Julie Brown, shares her recommended skincare products and a step by step guide you can start with at home.

‘When it comes to creating skin health, it really isn’t as difficult as you think. It can take time and dedication, however, it only requires 4 key steps.’

Step 1: The Perfect Cleanse

This consists of double cleansing using AlumierMD’s Purifying Gel Cleanser, a pH balanced foaming cleanser.

It contains coconut and plant-based surfactants to remove dirt and excess oil leaving skin feeling fresh and soft.

This allows the following products to penetrate to where they need to be.

Step 2: Exfoliation with AHA’s

AlumierMD Bright & Clear uses Lactic acid (AHA), Lime Pearl and Salicylic acid to gently exfoliate dead skin cells, while arnica and bisabolol soothe the skin.  This will leave the skin brighter, clearer and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, meaning a smoother more even surface for applying makeup.

Step 3: Vitamin C & Vitamin A

Everactive C&E is AlumierMD’s award winner, it contains the best form of Vitamin C on the market to work on the skins colour, clarity and collagen.

This helps to reduce redness, pigment, dull, sluggish skins whilst promoting radiance and collagen. It’s a must have for all clients during the day for environmental protection.

Vitamin A, also known as Retinol, we use in 3 strengths; 0.25%, 0.5% and 1%.  Retinol works on restoring skin health, cellular repair and collagen stimulation.

Using retinol makes the skin plumper, smoother, more lifted and healthier.  AlumierMD also add in niacinamide to help hydrate and soothe.

I recommend this as it helps with so many skin concerns and goals…there are benefits for everyone!

Step 4: SPF

This is the most important stage of skincare.

With AlumierMD we work with 3 different SPF’s some tinted, some not.

We use physical only filters meaning we reflect the damaging UV rays.

This is the most important step anyone can take in protecting and preserving your skin by stopping premature ageing from UV damage.

To accompany your home skincare routine we always recommend regular specialised treatments.

At The Source Clinic, our favourites are AlumierMD Peels and Hydrafacial to target more tricky skin concerns such as anti-ageing, pigmentation, scarring, congestion/breakouts & open pores.
